Been breaking up my workflow by using only a square brush for painting. I've also been using the custom shape tool (again using only squares) to supplement as it's really great for detail. In the cityscape above I focused a lot on texture contrast, (i.e. the soft diffused background against the hard angular lines of the city.) and pushing the line between abstraction and subjective painting.
I also thought it would be fun to do a portrait using the same technique so I did a quick one of Alan Turing, a personal hero.
